Clinicians may struggle with decision making when there are concerns about a person’s safety. The Living with Risk: Decision Support Approach (LWR:DSA) is a comprehensive and systematic 4-step process to help assess and manage the risks to which an older adult may be exposed. The LWR:DSA helps collect, organize, and evaluate information that is typically already gathered in situations that raise concerns about the safety of older adults, ensures a wide variety of risk categories (both psychological and physical) are considered and includes input from the older adult and their caregivers.
PGLO is pleased to co-host a pan-Canadian one-day symposium for clinicians, managers and researchers who are interested in implementing a dignity of risk program or innovation. This event will include:
- didactic sessions given by experts, based on known barriers to implementation
- testimonials by older adults, caregivers and clinicians
- interactive sessions and discussions with participants
